Events for Herd fans filling up

on

HUNTINGTON – Marshall fans have a couple of preseason events they can mix and mingle with the staff and selected players of the Thundering Herd football program in August. The Herd reports for fall camp on the earliest date in MU history, coming together July 26 and starting the new “one-per-day” practice schedule set by the NCAA to minimize the contact players take in the preseason.

PTCCG 17

On August 24, enjoy the premier Marshall events in the capital city of Charleston, W.Va. with the annual “Paint The Capital City Green” event at the Embassy Suites Hotel at 300 Court Street in Charleston. The event has been celebrated for nearly two decades, and is called the biggest “Indoor Tailgate” of the Marshall season. Marshall Coach Doc Holliday and many of his team-leaders will attend the event, along with the Marching Thunder Marshall Marching Band, the MU Dance team, Herd Cheerleaders and American Bison mascot, and National Mammal, Marco!

The Marshall University Quarterback Club of Charleston (MUQBCC) is your host and tickets must be purchased by August 17. There are many levels of tickets, starting with a $50 individual ticket ($25 for children 14 and under) up to a $1,000 Table Sponsor or a $2,500 Event Sponsor level. One more exciting detail is a chance to bid in the auction for an all-inclusive trip with the Herd football team to Raleigh, N.C. for the game with NC State on Sept. 8-9. Contact the MUQBCC at MUQBClubCharleston@gmail.com or call the Big Green at 304-696-4661. The event includes tailgate-type food and beverages.

MUFB 2017 Reverse Raffle

Two days after that event, the Marshall Football Staff will host the annual Reverse Raffle to benefit the team. The event is in the Don Morris Room of the Marshall University Memorial Student Center and tickets are $135 each (21 and older only).

There will be dinner, a live band, dancing, and an open bar, and the grand prize will be $5,000 at the end of the raffle. There are only 12 tickets left as of July 10, so contact the Marshall Big Green Scholarship Foundation by calling 304-696-4661 or at biggreen@marshall.edu.
