Herd Recruits Part of Hargrave vs. Htgn. Prep On Nov. 10


HUNTINGTON – Herd fans can see two players committed to the Thundering Herd, Hargrave Military Academy’s Tanner Robinette and Iran Bennett, playing for former Herd point guard, Coach A.W. Hamilton – who led the 2015-16 Hargrave program to a national championship, when they meet local team where Andrew Wiggins got his start before the NBA, Huntington Prep, playing each other at Teays Valley Christian this coming Thursday, Nov. 10.

In the early game, Teays Valley Christian will meet Mountain State Christian at 6 p.m. Hargrave will meet Huntington St. Joe Prep at 7:30 p.m. Hargrave has eight Division I commitments: Robinette and Bennett to Marshall, Brandon Knapper to WVU, Naji Marshall to Xavier, Braxton Beverly to Ohio State, Lewis Djonkam to Duquesne, Jordan McKenzie to Stony Brook and Antwan Walker to Georgetown.

Huntington Prep has Chase Johnson, who is committed to Florida. Along with Johnson are two top recruits for the class of 2018: Keldon Johnson, a 5-star athlete, and top 10 nationally small forward in Chris Smith.

Admission is only $10, and Teays Valley Christian is located on Teays Valley Road, off the Winfield exit of I-64, and right on Teays Valley Road. The school and church are immediately to the left.
